Shahad Sulaimani holds a Master degree of Science in Chemistry and currently a PhD Student in Chemistry at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. Her research at KAUST focusing on synthesizing a sustainable, biodegradable and biocompatible polymers for several sustainable applications. Beyond her academic pursuits, Shahad is an active member serving as a Treasure officer in Students for sustainability group (S2) at KAUST where she assists to raise awareness of KAUSTians about sustainability, to support and collaborate with the Sustainability office and to take actions about how climate change is affecting our life on the student’s level to move sustainability forward. She serves as an executive member in the organization team of the Saudi Youth for Sustainability (SYS) conference which is a youth-led national organization that aims to empower and connect young leaders to drive positive changes towards a sustainable future. Also, she is as a KAUST ambassador supporting the strategic national advancement (SNA) in representing KAUST to visitors from universities around the kingdom.
