Biography

Khawla Alkhezaim holds a Bachelor of science in Physics and now a MSc. student in
Applied Physics at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST).
She is currently working under professor Frederic Laquai’s supervision on organic
optoelectronics to study the charge carrier dynamics specifically in organic solar
cells. Khawla’s aim is to find eco-friendly and sustainable solutions in the energy
industry. Therefore, she decided to focus her studies on organic solar cells as
efficient and sustainable alternatives to the silicon solar cells. Khawla is a fast
learner and she keens on improving herself consistently. She participated in some
competitions and hackathons in both consulting and innovating aspects. She
believes that “sustainability” is a necessity not a choice, and she has a set of
ambitions towards a green and sustainable future.
