Aishah Alsamdani is a master's student in Environmental Science and Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), her research at KAUST addresses the problem of food-water security and promote sustainable desert agriculture. With a background in microbiology and experience in waste management, Aishah’s research focuses on leveraging microorganisms to promote environmental health and sustainable food production in arid lands.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Aishah is an active member of several non-profit organizations, including but not limited to: Saudi Youth for Sustainability, where she advocates for youth engagement, sustainable practices and environmental awareness. She also serves as a General Officer for Students for Sustainability group at KAUST, working to inspire and mobilize students towards sustainable solutions, in addition to being an active member of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers community. Also, as a founding member of Saudi Youth Climate Network (SYCN) Aishah alongside her team seek to empower young people to confront the challenges facing our planet and drive positive change.
