Dr. Rúben Costa is a trained bioscientist, science communicator, and sustainability advisor. Throughout his career, his scientific path has spanned from applied biomedical projects to fundamental environmental research. He is an advocate for scientific literacy and outreach, and his engagement projects connecting schools to higher education settings have been featured in international media and in TEDx. He currently serves as a Sustainability Engagement and Performance Lead at the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), where he applies his multidisciplinary knowledge and communication skills to foster sustainability literacy, community engagement, performance reporting and advance the overall sustainability agenda of the university.
