Dr. Gyorgy Szekely

Biography

Gyorgy received his MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest, and PhD in Chemistry from the Technical University of Dortmund. He worked in the pharmaceutical R&D center of Hovione, and as an IAESTE Fellow at the University of Tokyo. He has held positions at Imperial College London and The University of Manchester, and received the Distinguished Visiting Fellowship of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is an Assistant Professor at the Advanced Membranes & Porous Materials Center at KAUST. He focuses on sustainable separations through a combination of materials science and process engineering. He serves on editorial boards including the ACS Applied Polymer Materials, Journal of Membrane Science, and Frontiers in Chemical Engineering. He is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
